Fundraise For Us
Fundraising for SLSNSW is essential to fulfil our mission; to provide a safe beach and aquatic environment throughout NSW.
The Surf Life Saving Foundation (SLSF) is the national fundraising arm for Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) and is responsible for the creation and delivery of programs that raise much needed funds for the movement. The SLSF manages both philanthropic activities and commercial (prize home lotteries) activities and distributes funds to states and territories around the country to support Surf Life Saving branches and clubs.
Australia and its related islands have over 11,500 beaches dispersed along more than 50,000km of coastline and attracts an estimated 300 million visitations every year. Volunteer surf lifesavers are always kept busy. Surf Life Saving has over 50,000 volunteers from 314 different surf clubs across Australia and with the help of generous donations, volunteers are able to ensure that Australia has some of the safest beaches in the world.
The funds raised are predominantly used by the Surf Life Saving entities to maintain and replace lifesaving rescue gear and equipment, enhance the training and development programs for volunteer surf lifesavers, expand community surf safety campaigns and fund aquatic safety research and development.

Philanthropic Activities – slsfoundation.com.au
The SLSF runs annual appeals and fundraising programs to help achieve the SLS vision of “Zero preventable deaths in Australian waters.” The Foundation runs a regular giving program called Guardians Of The Surf where donors act as the silent hero behind every life saved by volunteer surf lifesavers. Guardians Of The Surf is a monthly giving program.
A bequest program is also managed by the SLSF where supporters can leave a gift to Surf Life Saving after their passing. The program includes the “10,000 Club Circle of Friends,” set-up specifically for Surf Life Saving members who wish to provide a legacy for their surf club. For further information please call 1800 642 925.
All philanthropic activities by the SLSF are carried out online – www.slsfoundation.com.au or directly with supporters via email communications, telemarketing and mail. If any member of the public is approached by a person claiming to represent Surf Life Saving, we urge individuals to request to see a copy of their official fundraising identification and permit. All of our approved fundraisers, including surf club members, carry these forms of fundraising identification.
The Foundation maintains the highest of standards around legal and ethical fundraising practices and is a member of the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA). They also comply with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Good Governance Principles and Guidance for NFP Organisations.
