Please note this position is part time. Support Surf Life Saving staff and volunteers in wellbeing initiatives and post critical incident care. Reporting to the SLSNSW Membership Manager, you will be providing well checks, assisting the Peer Support Program, maintaining records and undertaking administrative tasks related to the wellbeing of members

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high performing and iconic organisation. With a busy summer season approaching, we are looking for a Wellbeing Officer to provide well checks, assist the Peer Support Program and undertake administrative tasks related to member wellbeing.

Some of the duties will include:

  • Coordinating and conducting well checks for frontline workers (staff and volunteers) involved in critical incidents.
  • Coordinating the administrative logistics for the Peer Support Program for volunteers across the state.
  • Coordinate Peer Support Officer training and ongoing development / resource sharing.
  • Supporting the Membership Manager to maintain resources related to the critical incident framework and wellbeing.
  • Supporting members with the workers compensation claim process.

Essential qualification and experience required:

  • Qualifications or experience in a relevant area of welfare or wellbeing (e.g. Psychological First Aid; Mental Health First Aid; Crisis Intervention; Counselling).
  • Knowledge or experience working with wellbeing or peer support programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including the Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong administrative skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
