The Child Safe Coordinator role is the main point of contact for all communication regarding child safety and is responsible for ensuring that child safe requirements and requests are actioned.
This includes ensuring that the club has processes in place to ensure that the Working with Children Check requirements are met in line with legislation and that the SLSA Child Safe policy 6.04 and codes of conduct around Children and Young people are adhered to.
The position is also responsible for encouraging the club management team to take an active part in ensuring the club provides a child safe environment, therefore board members can carry out the Child Safe Coordinator role if appropriate.
Child Safe Coordinators are required to have completed the SLS online Child Safe Awareness module in the members portal and encouraged to attend the SLSNSW Child Safe workshops when scheduled.
