In this edition we feature the SLSNSW record funding package, designed to help surf clubs in NSW recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the award winning rescue of a 32-year-old rock fisher at Port Stephens and how artificial intelligence is helping drone pilots identify shark species and keep beachgoers safe.
We celebrate the 40th anniversary of womens involvement in active Surf Life Saving duties and congratulate the SLSNSW members recognised for their outstanding contributions to the community in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
We also reflect on the season that was and the unwavering commitment and resilience displayed by our surf lifesavers during one of the most unusual patrol seasons on record.
We would like to thank our members and supporters for helping us keep our beaches safe for another season.
