The online program, developed in collaboration with the Institute of Management Psychology, focuses on interpersonal leadership capabilities to motivate and retain members. #BEACHTOBUSH // Surf lifesavers have arrived at the home of country music to preach surf safety and help save lives in rural NSW. Bil & Karen Kensey & Lynnette Vuradin with daughter Siera pulled up at the Big Golden Guitar this afternoon ahead of a big week in the northwest.
Over the coming three weeks, more than 11,300 students will attend an Ingenia Holiday Parks Beach to Bush session with just under 100 schools slated to participate in what is the 31st year of the program.
In a major milestone for the state’s largest surf education program, 2024 will see the Beach to Bush program surpass 300,000 students engaged since 1994, across more than 3,500 presentations.

#PATHWAYS 🛣️ // you know what is amazing about sport, it’s knowing there’s a full path ahead and anything could be coming. A wise person once said, “what you put in, you get out” and for our surf lifesaving athletes that’s very true. Many start in U6’s just like these Nippers frColedale SLSC and Camping Reservef SLSC today and stay in the same club the whole way through to competing at the highest level like Isabella Tate from Cudgen Headland Surf Life Saving Club who won the World Ocean Series U17 Board Race this weekend, or the hundreds of athletes aSydney Water Surf SeriesSeries also held over the last two days.
Who knows where we’ll see these two Nippers in 10 years!

#AGM// Four new Life Members were announced and two new Board Directors were elected at the SLSNSW Annual General Meeting on 1 November.
President Peter Agnew AM congratulated Frank Davey OAM – Pambula SLSC, James Connolly – Sussex Inlet SLSC, Steve Haggett – Nth Narrabeen SLSC and Stephen Bennett – Freshwater SLSC on their elevation to NSW Life Member.
Susan Hunt from Far South Coast Branch and Shannon Fox from Illawarra Branch were elected to the NSW Board, filling vacancies left by outgoing long-term directors John Restuccia OAM and Kerry Clancy OAM.
Current Director of Lifesaving Joel Wiseman was elected to the role of Deputy President.

#ROCKFISHING// Wearing a lifejacket can be the difference between life and death. Our highly successful Gone Fishing safety program is back in 2025, bigger and better. We’ll be targeting at-risk communities, running safety sessions all over the state and giving out 1200 free lifejackets thanks to funding from the NSW Government.

I'm saddened to hear this news. Steve was a true gentleman who was always willing to pass on his knowledge and expertise to any who needed it, especially when it came to our youth members. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
