It’s been an exceptionally busy summer for the 2017 for the NSW Facilitator of the Year Janne Moran who hails from Pacific Palms SLSC.

Balancing multiple roles at her club and also serving as Branch Education Director for the Lower North Coast she kept a full diary as she strove to ensure that lifesavers across the region had access to the best possible education.

This year she facilitated/assessed/trained 16 courses across the Lower North Coast as well as running the SRC course at her club.

One of her key aims this season was to build better trust among the clubs and especially with the trainers and assessors.

She achieved this by ensuring that every club within the area had at least one visit from a member of the education team so that they could ask any questions face to face.

Janne made the decision to hold courses were held at various locations around the Branch so lifesavers from around the area were able to travel to these important courses.

Another highlight was that she negotiated and facilitated with State a protocol to give First Aid Facilitators their certification without having to be a candidate in a course they have already delivered numerous times across the season.

She also convened the annual TAFs preseason meeting and ran a session on the Spinal update as she devoted countless hours to the education of the local membership.

The 2017 SLSNSW Awards of Excellence are proudly presented by Stramit Building Products. Over 300 of Surf Life Saving’s most outstanding lifesavers, athletes, educators, coaches, and administrators from around the state gathered at Sydney’s iconic The Hilton Hotel to celebrate the season that was.
