As the NSW Trainer of the Year for 2017, Susan Croad is extremely dedicated to ensuring that frontline surf lifesavers have the skills and knowledge needed to be safe and deliver the best possible experience for beachgoers when they are out on patrol.

Hailing from Hat Head Surf Life Saving Club on the state’s Mid North Coast up until this season she has been the sole trainer at her club.



This year she has mentored three new trainers ensuring the club is in a strong position moving forward when it comes to educating its lifesavers.



In addition to her club duties Susan has also volunteer her time at a Branch Level serving as northern branch education officer.



Susan has a strong desire to see more members become trainers and is renowned for her strong communication skills which have made her an effective trainer.



She currently serves as treasurer at Hat Head and has in the past been a president – her long time efforts have recently been acknowledged with her being elevated to Life Member at the club.



The 2017 SLSNSW Awards of Excellence are proudly presented by Stramit Building Products. Over 300 of Surf Life Saving’s most outstanding lifesavers, athletes, educators, coaches, and administrators from around the state gathered at Sydney’s iconic The Hilton Hotel to celebrate the season that was.
