Receptionist, Office Assistant

This is a critical, fast-paced position requiring you to be the chief traffic controller for visitors, deliveries, staff movements and internal /external enquiries.

You are an excellent communicator at all levels with great time management and able to anticipate the businesses needs with a willingness to assist. Professionalism, polished presentation, initiative, unquestionable attendance and reliability will be key for success in this role.

Responsibilities include
  • Handle and direct enquiries via multiline switch
  • manage and distribute emails from general enquiry channel  
  • Manage incoming and outgoing warehouse deliveries and mail 
  • Process travel arrangements and bookings
  • Engage with and assist members, branches & volunteers
  • Ensure contact registers are updated 
  • Assist internal staff with administration assistance as required
  • Maintain stationary and kitchen stock 
  • Ensure kitchen facilities and presentation are maintained 
  • Assist with staff events and special projects
About You

This role will suit a confident, experienced front of house receptionist with strong administrative skills. You will be warm and welcoming yet unflappable with the ability to be across many issues at once. Customer service is at the forefront of all your interactions.

You will ideally have a good understanding of how community/sporting organisations or emergency services operate and ideally have some involvement or knowledge of Surf Life Saving.

Skills and Experience
  • Strong administration skills, organised, thorough, attention to detail
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to communicate appropriately at all levels
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to multi task and prioritise
  • “Can do” attitude and strong initiative
  • professional personal presentation 
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • a positive and proactive outlook
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Previous experience in an administrative related role
  • Understanding and knowledge of Surf Life Saving

Surf Life Saving NSW is the state’s primary water safety and rescue organisation and one of the largest volunteer movements in the country. We support more than 76,000 members in 129 clubs to serve the community through the provision of beach patrol services, coastal emergency response, training and education, sports and junior development.
